Job summary

Allied Universal in Peterborough, Ontario, is seeking a Security Guard - Floater to provide constant surveillance and a visible security presence across client sites, including travel to Peterborough and Port Hope.

The role involves standing for long periods, incident reporting, threat assessment, and assisting customers and staff, with a pay rate of $18.50–$22.00 per hour and opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience working in security
• Must have a valid Ontario Security License
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours a week
• High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience
• Familiarity with operating technology and wireless communication systems at client-specific sites
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• First Aid and CPR

Responsibilities

• Incident Reporting: Document and report incidents accurately, ensuring all relevant details are captured for future reference and analysis
• Maintain a visible security presence: Staying stationed at a fixed location within the retail premises to deter theft, vandalism, or other suspicious activities
• Threat Assessment: Evaluate situations to determine the level of risk and determine appropriate responses
• Professional Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication through email correspondence with team members and other stakeholders
• Assist customers and staff: By providing directions, answering safety-related questions, and offering assistance as needed
• Emergency Response: Act swiftly in emergency situations, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services as necessary
• Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of incidents, inspections, and other relevant documentation for compliance and review
