Job Title: Security Guard

Location: Midland, ON

Pay rate: $20.00 per hour

Schedule: Various - PT

Overview

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Guard to oversee security operations at our Midland sites. The ideal candidate has experience handling vagrants, possesses excellent communication skills, is willing to work the specified shifts, and can manage job requirements effectively. If you have security guard experience, enjoy patrolling, are proficient with computers, and maintain professionalism, we'd like to hear from you.

Requirement: 5 years of residency in Canada to obtain site-specific security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently operate computers to ensure effective patrolling and site security.
• Respond to emergency situations such as fires, medical emergencies, phone threats, and investigate disturbances.
• Monitor and control entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to prevent theft and maintain safety.
• Complete assigned daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
• Communicate professionally with stakeholders, including site management.
• Manage security incidents and emergencies calmly and efficiently.
• Perform regular patrols and site checks to uphold security standards.

Minimum Requirements

• One year of experience in a security guard role.
• 5 years of residency in Canada for security clearance.
• Weekend shift availability.
• Ability to patrol for long hours.
• Proficiency with technology and wireless communication systems at client sites.
• Valid Ontario Security License.
• Eligibility to work in Canada up to 40 hours/week.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent/GED or relevant work experience.
• Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift or carry up to 20 kg occasionally.
