The TELUS Health CSO team aims to stay ahead, addressing cybersecurity challenges with top talent and cutting-edge technology.

Description

The Incident Management team provides pre- and post-incident response support, including reporting, process development, operational readiness, and root cause analysis. We collaborate across TELUS Health and corporate teams to coordinate and share information during cyber events.

Role Overview

As a Security Consultant leading Table Top Exercises, you will plan, coordinate, execute, and evaluate exercises simulating cybersecurity incidents. The goal is to test and improve TELUS Health's security response plans and procedures. The role requires technical expertise, project management, facilitation, and evaluation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define objectives and goals for the exercises aligned with TELUS Health priorities.
  • Develop realistic scenarios simulating relevant security incidents.
  • Coordinate logistics, including venue, scheduling, and resources.
  • Engage stakeholders, including leadership and response teams, ensuring understanding and commitment.
  • Assign roles and facilitate the exercise, guiding discussions and decision-making.
  • Manage exercise flow, introduce challenges, and ensure schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate, take notes, and assess participant performance.
  • Conduct debriefings, gather feedback, and identify lessons learned.
  • Prepare after-action reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Develop action plans to address gaps identified during exercises.
  • Monitor implementation of improvements and integrate lessons into policies.
  • Provide training based on exercise outcomes to enhance readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., SOC2).
  • Maintain records of planning, execution, and evaluation activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Must have or be able to obtain Canadian government security clearance.
  • Strong problem-solving and investigative skills in information security.
  • Knowledge of security domains (e.g., data protection, compliance, incident management).
  • Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST).
  • Understanding of relevant laws (GDPR, HIPAA, PIPEDA).
  • Effective communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability and ownership of responsibilities.
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as PMP, CISA, CISSP, CISM.
  • Knowledge of standards like NIST 800-53, PCI-DSS, CIS Benchmarks, COBIT, ISF.
