Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Laval, QC is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard premises and assets on-site. Under the supervision of the Security Officers Supervisor, you will control entries, patrol facilities, respond to incidents, and maintain logs.

We value bilingual capabilities (French and English), valid first aid and CPR, a Class 5 driver's license, and a calm, professional demeanor to handle stressful situations. This role requires night and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Valid first aid certification.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Bilingual in French and English.
• Clean criminal record.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
• Excellent judgment and communication skills.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Controlling entries and exits (visitors, employees, clients).
• Patrolling buildings and the yard (AIM Montréal and Laval).
• Protecting the premises and handling incidents.
• Intervening in fires, medical emergencies, bomb threats, floods, or hazardous materials.
• Writing reports and logs.
• Locking and unlocking doors.
• Conducting searches in case of suspicion.
• Performing any other related tasks.

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Security Officers Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for performing security duties on the work premises.

What you will be responsible for:

• Controlling entries and exits (visitors, employees, clients)
• Patrolling, on foot or by vehicle, the buildings as well as the yard (AIM Montréal and Laval)
• Ensuringthe protection of evidence in the event of an offenseProtecting the premises in case of an incident
• Interveningin case of fires, medical emergencies, bomb threats, floods, water leaks, or the presence of hazardous materials
• Writingreports and logs
• Locking and unlocking doors
• Conductingsearches in case of suspicion
• Performing any other related tasks

Qualifications

• You are able to work shifts: nights, weekends
• You have a high school diploma
• You have valid first aid certification
• You have a valid Class 5 driver’s license
• You are bilingual, French and English (written and spoken)
• You have a clean criminal record
• You have the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and rationally
• You have excellent judgment, observation, and communication skills
• You have completed a first aid course and hold your CPR card
