Job summary

The Town of Aurora, Ontario, invites applications for a CUPE Seasonal position in Roads Maintenance from November 2026 to April 2027. The role involves winter road patrols, snowplow operation, sidewalk ploughing, dump trucks, and other equipment.

A DZ license is required and shift schedules include days, evenings, nights, weekends. Applicants must have a high school diploma and experience in road maintenance; on-call availability and safety knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to deal courteously with staff and the public and follow directions.
Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations and safe equipment operation.
Experience with road patrol software is a plus.
Standby/on-call is mandatory; 10-hour shifts including nights/weekends.
DZ licence (Class DZ) in good standing is required.

Responsibilities

Carry out roads maintenance duties including winter Road Patrol and snowplough operation.
Maintain municipal roads – patching, litter/debris removal, street sweeping, snow removal and sanding.
Operate various equipment: dump trucks, front end loader, and other hand/power tools.
