Job summary

Ledcor is hiring for winter and seasonal highway maintenance across Ontario to support local communities. You will operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment to keep Ontario highways safe year‑round.

Local applicants are preferred with shifts that may include nights, weekends, and long hours. A valid AZ/DZ license with air endorsement is required, and you must provide a 3‑year driver’s abstract. Premiums apply for AZ operation, snow plowing, and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting 50 lbs, bending, kneeling).
• Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with air endorsement.
• Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver’s abstract.
• Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required.
• Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including laborer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.).
• Work outside in all weather conditions.

Premiums

• $3/hour AZ Premium when directed to operate equipment that require AZ
• $5/hour Snow Plow Premium
• $1/hr Night Shift Premium

Work Conditions

• Local applicants will be given preference due to the location of the work
• As we respond to various weather patterns, shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required
• Work schedules will consist of either 5 consecutive days followed by 2 days off or 6 consecutive days followed by 1 day off, with daily shifts lasting 8 to 12 hours (Shop specific)
• CLAC union position

• Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)

• Valid AZ or DZ driver's license with air endorsement
• Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver's abstract

Compensation

$25.50 - $33.50 per hour

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
