Job summary

Ledcor Highways Ltd. (LHL) is offering part-time road maintenance roles across Ontario, including Sault Ste. Marie. If you hold a DZ or AZ license and want to contribute to safe highways, we want to hear from you. We offer competitive wages, safety training and career growth opportunities.

You will operate snowplow trucks and heavy equipment for winter maintenance, with 8–12 hour shifts. Local applicants are preferred; night shifts and on-call work may be required; CLAC union position.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, crouching).
• Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with air endorsement required.
• Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver’s abstract.
• Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders and other heavy equipment as required.
• Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning).
• Work outside in all weather conditions.

Premiums

• $3/hour AZ Premium when directed to operate equipment that require AZ
• $5/hour Snow Plow Premium
• $1/hr Night Shift Premium

Work Conditions

• Local applicants will be given preference due to the location of the work
• As we respond to various weather patterns, shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required
• Work schedules will consist of either 5 consecutive days followed by 2 days off or 6 consecutive days followed by 1 day off, with daily shifts lasting 8 to 12 hours (Shop specific)
• CLAC union position

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
