Dawson Road Maintenance is seeking Seasonal Operators with a Class 1 or 3 license to navigate frozen roads, clear snow and ice, and perform related duties to keep our roadways safe for all travelers.

These temporary, full-time positions report to the Road Foreperson and may involve travel across Fort St. John, Montney, Hudson's Hope, Rose Prairie, Buick Creek, Cecil Lake, Clayhurst, Fort Nelson and other BC communities. This is not a fly-in, fly-out role.

Qualificações

• Minimum two years of road maintenance and/or construction experience.
• Valid Class 1 preferred, or 3 Driver's license is required.
• Two years of commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Experience in snow removal is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of road construction materials and processes is preferred.
• Heavy Equipment Operating Certificate is an asset.
• Able to manage electronic reporting using tablets.
• Capable of performing vehicle inspections and basic maintenance.

Responsabilidades

• Prioritize safety of self and others at all times.
• Operate heavy equipment on public roadways in all weather conditions.
• Follow supervisor daily production schedule and activities.
• Maintain daily work in progress and completion status.
• Complete work reports and maintenance logs.
• Perform tasks such as pothole patching and sign/bridge maintenance.
• Perform minor preventative maintenance (greasing).
• Assist with yard and shop housekeeping as needed.

Dawson Road Maintenance is looking for Seasonal Operators, holding a Class 1 or 3 license, who will skillfully navigate frozen roads, clearing snow and ice, along with other duties to ensure our roadways are safe for all travelers.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Road Maintenance, working in a temporary, full-time position of Seasonal Operator, reporting to the Road Foreperson. This position requires an experienced operator to meet company production objectives and work within specified tolerances. We are currently hiring in Fort St. John, Montney, Hudson's Hope, Rose Prairie & Buick Creek, Cecil Lake & Clayhurst, Fort Nelson, B.C and may require some travel throughout our great province.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A FLY IN FLY OUT.

What Success Looks Like

• Must prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job
• Work collaboratively with all team members to successfully complete tasks at hand, and other day to day duties to keep our roads and service area safe and clean
• Ability to perform unskilled manual work requiring little previous training or experience but involving physical effort
• Operate heavy equipment in all weather conditions, on public roadways in a safe and appropriate manner
• Follow direction of the Supervisor regarding daily production schedule and activities
• Maintains a daily activity of work in progress and status of completion
• Maintain proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment
• Complete all work reports and maintenance logs
• Chain up wheels when conditions require
• Perform other road maintenance tasks as required, such as, but not limited to: pothole patching, yard and shop housekeeping, sign and bridge maintenance and cleaning
• Perform minor preventative maintenance tasks, including greasing

What You Bring

• Minimum two (2) years of road maintenance and/or construction experience
• Valid Class 1 preferred, or 3 Drivers license is required
• Two (2) years commercial driving experience is an asset
• Experience in snow removal is considered an asset
• Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements
• Heavy Equipment Operating Certificate an asset
• Able to manage electronic reporting using tablets
• Minor equipment maintenance
• Be physically able to complete a commercial vehicle trip inspection
