Job summary

Autism Services in Canada seeks a seasonal maintenance worker to perform lawn mowing, roadside upkeep, and general yard tasks. You will operate municipal equipment, assist with minor repairs, and maintain a safe work environment near roads and rights-of-way.

The role requires physical fitness, reliability, and the ability to follow directions, with training provided as needed. Work weeks are Monday to Friday, about 8–10 hours daily, with emphasis on teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical labour outdoors.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and able to follow directions.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence required.
• Willing to receive training and certification as needed.

Responsibilities

Job description

Seasonal, Monday to Friday, approximately 8-10 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Operate a municipal mower and perform grass and roadside mowing as required.
• Responsible for the safe operations of Municipal owned equipment
• Work safely in and around municipal roadways, rights-of-way, and other municipal work areas.
• Assisting with minor maintenance and equipment repairs
• Perform general shop cleaning and yard maintenance.
• Picking rocks and debris
• Protect personal health and safety, as well as the health and safety of others, by following safe work practices and maintaining a safe workplace.
• Completing manual labour tasks as assigned
• Assisting with road repairs, culvert installations, and other duties assigned by Council and the Foreman

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical labour in outdoor conditions
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Self-motivated with a willingness to follow directions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to operate a variety of maintenance equipment safely and efficiently
• Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence required
• Previous experience is considered an asset, but is not required
• Successful applicants must be willing to receive training and certification on equipment as required
