Dawson Road Maintenance is seeking a Seasonal Operator with a Class 1 or 3 license to maintain and clear roads, ensuring safety for travelers in Smithers, Carnaby and Stewart areas. The role is temporary, full-time and involves manual tasks, heavy equipment operation, and travel across the province as needed.

You will report to the Road Foreperson and contribute to production targets while prioritizing safety and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of road maintenance and/or construction experience.
• Valid Class 1 license preferred, or Class 3 license is required.
• Two years commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Experience in snow removal is considered an asset.
• Ability to perform unskilled manual work requiring physical effort.
• Able to manage electronic reporting using tablets.

Responsabilités

• Operate heavy equipment in all weather conditions, on public roadways, in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Follow the Supervisor's daily production schedule and activities.
• Maintain a daily activity log and status of completion.
• Perform road maintenance tasks such as pothole patching and sign/bridge maintenance and cleaning.
• Perform minor preventative maintenance tasks, including greasing.
• Chain up wheels when conditions require.
