Dawson Road Maintenance seeks Seasonal Operators (Class 1 or 3 license) to maintain and snow-clear BC roadways. Based in Smithers, with duties in Carnaby and Stewart areas, this temporary full-time role may require province-wide travel.

You will join a safety-focused team reporting to the Road Foreperson and contribute to meeting production targets within set tolerances. We value reliability and teamwork, with opportunities to gain experience on heavy equipment, complete electronic reporting on

• Two years road maintenance and/or construction experience.
• Class 1 license preferred or Class 3 required.
• Two years of commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of road construction materials and processes.
• Heavy Equipment Operating Certificate is an asset.
• Able to manage electronic reporting using tablets.
• Experience in snow removal is an asset.

Dawson Road Maintenance is looking for Seasonal Operators, holding a Class 1 or 3 license, who will skillfully navigate frozen roads, clearing snow and ice, along with other duties to ensure our roadways are safe for all travelers.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Road Maintenance, working in a temporary, full-time position of Seasonal Operator, reporting to the Road Foreperson. This position requires an experienced operator to meet company production objectives and work within specified tolerances We are currently hiring in Smithers , Carnaby and Stewart B.C. and may require some travel throughout our great province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Must prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job
• Work collaboratively with all team members to successfully complete tasks at hand, and other day to day duties to keep our roads and service area safe and clean
• Ability to perform unskilled manual work requiring little previous training or experience but involving physical effort
• Operate heavy equipment in all weather conditions, on public roadways in a safe and appropriate manner
• Follow direction of the Supervisor regarding daily production schedule and activities
• Maintain a daily activity of work in progress and status of completion
• Maintain proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment
• Complete all work reports and maintenance logs

WHAT YOU BRING

• Minimum two (2) years of road maintenance and/or construction experience
• Valid Class 1 preferred, or 3 Drivers license is required
• Two (2) years commercial driving experience is an asset
• Experience in snow removal is considered an asset
• Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements
• Heavy Equipment Operating Certificate an asset
• Able to manage electronic reporting using tablets
• Minor equipment maintenance
