An established industry player is seeking a Seasonal Garden Centre Manager to oversee operations during peak season. We are looking for a dynamic and organized Seasonal Garden Centre Manager to support the store in efficiently
running day-to-day operations during our peak season from mid April- mid June
This role is crucial in ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, effective staff management, product maintenance and overall visual excellence
Garden Centre Managers work a 5 day schedule including 1 weekend day with the ability to work overtime if required
Prior Garden Centre Management Experience is Required
Operational Support:
Assist in overseeing daily activities, ensuring the garden center is well-maintained, set to planogram and visually appealing.
Contribute to inventory feedback, including receiving, stocking, rotating and merchandising of products.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers, answering inquiries, and offering advice on plant availability & assortment.
Collaborate with the team to create a welcoming and informative shopping environment.
Staff Supervision:
Build out daily plans of staffing duties, identifying training needs, and supervising seasonal staff.
Assist in schedule management and task allocation to ensure smooth operations and budgets are met.
Conduct regular performance assessments and provide feedback & follow-up training as needed.
Sales and Strategy:
Contribute to the planogram execution for promotions and featured items.
Assist in monitoring garden centre needs based on target quantities required to meet store budget goals.
Quality Control:
Work with the team to ensure the quality and health of plant inventory.
Assist in managing, tracking and disposing of compromised product.
Administrative Duties:
Stay up to date on all administrative tasks, store procedures and other process documentation as assigned.
Previous experience in a garden center, retail, or related field - 2 yrs minimum.
Knowledge of plants, gardening, and landscaping practices.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays during peak seasons.
Able to work a flexible 5 day schedule to support in store demands.
Capable of working in a fast-paced physically demanding environment that involves pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs and bending on a daily basis.
Able to navigate various forms of technology from spreadsheets to apps to reporting tools in a mobile office environment.
