Job summary

The Wilder Institute's Calgary Zoo is seeking a Seasonal Dishwasher to join the Catering Back of House team. You will help maintain cleanliness and sanitation in a busy kitchen, supporting the banquet cooks and ensuring safe food handling across all venues.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of culinary experience and Alberta Food Safety Training. This is a seasonal position with a start date in October 2026 and end date in December 2026, on-site at the Calgary Zoo, with a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a culinary environment.
• Alberta Food Safety Training is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen.
• Follow sanitation policies and procedures for food handling.
• Assist with food preparation under supervision of a Banquet Cook.
• Keep work areas clean and organized, including utensils, countertops, and equipment.
• Manage storage areas and waste/recycling disposal.
• Support other kitchen roles as needed and comply with safety protocols.
