Job summary

Canucks Autism Network in Victoria, BC, is recruiting Support Workers for the Fall 2026 Season across multiple local sites. You will support autistic participants in CAN programs, providing 1:1 or small-group assistance and collaborating with Onsite Supervisors, Coaches, and volunteers to foster safe, inclusive experiences.

Responsibilities include adapting activities, promoting engagement, and ensuring participant well-being.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends (as required by programming).
• If applying for a skate program, must be able to skate forwards, backwards, stop with ease and support beginners on ice.
• If applying for a swim program, must be able to support a beginner swimmer in water up to 6 ft.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming, inclusive environment for participants.
• Adapt activities so all participants can meaningfully engage.
• Support individual goals and development (skills, independence, communication).
• Demonstrate awareness of participant needs (physical, cognitive, emotional).
• Help participants build confidence, belonging, and well-being.
• Collaborate with coaches, supervisors, and volunteers to run programs.
