Job summary

LMI Technologies is seeking an SDET 2 - Automation and Build Developer to strengthen Software Operations. You will bridge development and production to optimize C++ builds across architectures, integrate SAST/DAST/SCA, and build secure, fast CI/CD pipelines.

You’ll leverage Docker environments, AI-assisted tooling, and advanced caching to accelerate builds, while expanding automation coverage and improving developer productivity in a hybrid Burnaby office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Build/Release, Security or Automation with CI/CD focus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python and C++.
• Familiarity with SAST, DAST, SCA and secure SDLC practices.
• Experience with cross‑compilation, Linux and Windows build systems (GCC).
• Experience building Docker build environments and CI/CD integration.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, or similar CI/CD platforms.

Responsibilities

• DevSecOps and Security Integration: deploy automated security testing in CI/CD (SAST, DAST, SCA).
• Vulnerability Management: build SBOMs from software and scan libraries for vulnerabilities.
• Build Pipelines: own and optimize CI/CD pipelines with Docker build environments.
• Compiler & Toolchain Management: manage C++ builds across multiple architectures and fix compiler issues.
• Performance Optimization: implement build caching and unit test improvements to speed up feedback.
• Agentic Workflows: use AI tools to assist with build scripts, debugging, and log analysis.
• Automation Test Integration: embed testing into developer workflow for quality.
• Automation Coverage: identify and expand automation to reduce manual testing.
