Job Overview

Discovery Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Community Service Worker (SCSW) instructor to join our Surrey Campus. The role involves teaching a variety of subjects within the SCSW program, including Communication (Interpersonal), Personal Growth, Lifespan Development, Mental Health, Supportive Care, Personal Care, and Professional Growth.

Position Details
  • Title: Social Service Worker (SSW) Program Instructor
  • Wage Range: $31–$33 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The instructor will deliver in-person classes, following the curriculum and mentoring provided by the college.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Certificate related to community support work
  • Either 24 months of related occupational experience or 10 years of related occupational experience

Previous teaching experience and good computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Teams, etc.) are assets. Applicants should submit evidence of their qualifications and experience with their application.
