The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre located in Montreal, Quebec. It serves as the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The institute is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position summary
The Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH) is one of the thirteen virtual institutes of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), based at RI-MUHC in Montreal. It supports strategic research activities across Canada, focusing on causes, mechanisms, prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, support systems, and palliation for conditions related to the heart, lung, brain (stroke), blood, blood vessels, critical care, and sleep. ICRH emphasizes strengthening Indigenous health research and values equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).
The incumbent reports to the Scientific Director and Associate Director, working with the Canadian circulatory and respiratory health research community and stakeholders to identify research priorities, develop funding opportunities, build partnerships, and translate research into practice. The role is vital in advancing the Institute’s mission, mandate, and values, ensuring excellence and enhancing its reputation nationally and internationally.
