Job summary

Southland Transportation Ltd. is seeking a Dispatcher to oversee day-to-day communication between driving staff and operations and to ensure safe, efficient completion of school runs and charters.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. The shift is Monday through Friday, with responsibilities spanning driver check-ins, incident handling, payroll-related tasks, and charter management.

Qualifications

• Map reading skills with knowledge of the city, road layouts and school locations.
• Strong communication skills and phone etiquette.
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all driver check-ins are accounted for, including late-ins/early outs, absenteeism and pro-days.
• Facilitate communication between drivers and maintenance to resolve breakdowns and complete routes.
• Provide tactful and professional phone assistance to drivers, parents, schools and the public.
• Perform administrative duties such as payroll, filing and reporting.
• Audit Hours of Service compliance.
• Assist with booking and managing charters.
