Job summary

Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking a Library Technician to support school library operations at Woodroffe Avenue PS. The 50% regular, part-time position spans 10 months per year with 17.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities include organizing, circulating materials, providing reference help and preparing teaching materials under the principal’s direction. Candidate will have a Library Technician diploma and 1–2 years experience; strong cataloguing knowledge and computer skills are

Qualifications

• Diploma in Library and Information Technician required with 1–2 years library experience.
• Knowledge of cataloguing and classification systems.
• Strong research skills and internet research proficiency.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
• Experience operating and maintaining library software.
• Ability to schedule classes and manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; bilingual English/French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and public library services under supervision.
• Organize, maintain, select, order and circulate print and non‑print materials.
• Conduct reference work, research, and prepare study materials.
• Perform public relations, supervisory and clerical tasks as needed.
