DISTRICT POSITIONS
Qualifications for District Elementary Counselling jobs #1, and #2 are listed after job #2.
- Continuing, full-time (1.00 f.t.e.) effective 25.09.01, assignment to District Elementary Counselling, initial assignment to Wiltse, Kaleden, Naramata, and West Bench Elementary Schools.
- Continuing, full-time (1.00 f.t.e.) effective 25.09.01, assignment to District Elementary Counselling, initial assignment to KVR Elementary School.
Necessary qualifications for job #1 & #2 include:
- Teachers Regulation Branch Certification;
- A Master’s Degree in Counselling or equivalent;
- A minimum of three years of recent successful experience as a counselor at the elementary level, or
- Training and recent successful experience in providing personal counselling to school age students; or
- Knowledge and skills in the identification procedures and program planning for students with diverse needs including behavioural disorders; or
- Proven experience in the development of positive, collaborative and consultative working relationships with students, parents, colleagues and other school staff;
- The ability to write clear and effective reports;
- The ability to assist school based Inclusive Education teachers and classroom teachers in the writing of effective IEP’s; learning plans and safety plans;
- Be a strong advocate for students with diverse needs in particular with behavioural disorders.
- The ability to use technology effectively and efficiently.

Compensation
The starting annual salary as of July 1, 2024, for a full-time position ranges from $62,444 - $109,520 with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. Salaries are pro-rated for part-time positions.
