Job summary

The Sooke School District No. 62 on Vancouver Island is seeking Bus Drivers for on-call positions with a starting wage of $29.85 per hour, 10 months per year (September 1 to June 30).

Candidates must have a valid Class 2 BC Driver's Licence with air brake endorsement, secondary school completion, and First Aid Level 1, with up to three months of related experience; transporting students is preferred.

Qualifications

• Secondary school completion.
• Valid Class II BC Driver's Licence with air brake endorsement.
• First Aid Level 1 (or willingness to obtain).
• Up to three months of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Drives the bus safely and adheres to route schedules as determined by Transportation.
• Deals with passengers in a firm, yet diplomatic, manner.
• Checks the bus and reports necessary repairs to the Transportation Supervisor.
• Cleans the bus as required.
• Drives regular routes and may drive extra bus runs.
• Complies with the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations.
