Job summary

CASA Mental Health is seeking a Therapy Support Assistant to join the CASA Classrooms program, delivering school-based mental health services and coordinating with schools and families. You will support individual and group therapies, participate in progress reviews, and help implement evidence-based treatment plans for children and youth.

Strong knowledge of behaviour management, organization and communication are essential, with an emphasis on collaboration across educational and clinical

Qualifications

• Degree in social work, child and youth care, early childhood education or a related discipline such as psychology or social sciences.
• One to two years of related experience in an educational or mental health setting.
• Experience working in a school setting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing individual treatment plans for children or adolescents with internalizing and externalizing difficulties, using evidence-based cognitive and behavioural principles.
• Participate in family therapy sessions and other patient-related meetings such as program progress reviews and discharge meetings.
• Implement therapeutic models of individual, group and family therapy.
• Conduct phone calls to schools or parents to gather information or explain strategies to support success.
• Assist in group facilitation and note taking as required.
