Job summary

Chilliwack School District No. 33 is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist to support students aged 5–17 in accessing and engaging with school life.

You will collaborate with families, teachers, educational assistants, and community professionals to identify strengths, reduce barriers, and promote student success. You will work on areas such as self-regulation, sensory processing, accessibility, assistive technology, environmental adaptations, and participation in classroom activities.

Qualifications

• Current registration, or eligibility for registration, with CHCPBC.
• Valid British Columbia Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Experience working as an Occupational Therapist with children and youth aged 5–17, preferably in paediatrics or school-based practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively with School Based Teams, including parents and school staff.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to establish positive, collaborative relationships with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support students aged 5–17 to access and participate fully in school life.
• Collaborate with families, teachers, educational assistants, and school teams to identify strengths, reduce barriers, and promote student success.
• Develop and deliver strategies for self-regulation, sensory processing, accessibility, and environmental adaptations.
• Manage caseloads and maintain documentation, and contribute to program evaluation and instructional materials.
