Job summary

Collingwood School in West Vancouver, BC is seeking an experienced School Age Care Worker for the Wentworth Campus to support JK-5, primarily JK. This temporary contract runs Sept 8, 2026 to June 11, 2027 with potential for continuation.

20 hours per week, Monday to Friday afternoons in the JK room. Requirements include an ECE Diploma/Certificate, Standard First Aid, and a minimum of 2 years in a school or childcare setting.

Qualifications

• Must have an Early Childhood Education certificate or diploma.
• First Aid certificate required (Standard First Aid preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with children in school or childcare settings.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with students, staff, parents and the community.

Responsibilities

• Follow licensing regulations and the School Age Care Handbook.
• Interact directly with children and staff members.
• Assist with planning and setup of the School Age Care program to provide varied activities.
• Establish and maintain positive communication with parents.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean environment in all activity areas.
• Ensure safety and supervision standards per licensing and Collingwood requirements.
• Release children only to those authorized by the parent/guardian.
• Maintain confidentiality of information related to Collingwood School, children, families, and staff.
• Maintain regular attendance, punctuality and professionalism.
• Ensure drills for fire, earthquake and wildlife sighting are up to date.

Collingwood School is a gender-inclusive day school located on two campuses in West Vancouver, BC.

We are looking for an experienced School Age Care Worker to join our Wentworth Campus. This position will work within the school age care program and facilitate activities for children ages JK-5, predominantly in JK. The ideal candidates will be passionate and committed educators who can demonstrate the ability to contribute to the many facets of school life. It is a Temporary Contract position from September 8, 2026 to June 11, 2027 with the possibility of continuing in the future.

Available Shifts - Junior Kindergarten Room (20 hrs/week) when school is in session

• A valid Early Childhood Education Diploma/Certificate
• A valid First Aid certificate (Standard First Aid is preferred)

Salary & Benefits
