We are looking for 1 experienced School Age Care Worker to join our Wentworth Campus. This position will work within the School Age Care program and facilitate activities for children primarily in Junior Kindergarten (4-5 years old). The ideal candidate will be a passionate, committed, and experienced educator who can contribute to various aspects of school life. It is a Temporary Contract position from May 12, 2025, to June 13, 2025, with the possibility of extension into the 2025-26 school year. This position reports directly to the Director of External Programs.

Available shifts include:

• Mornings (10.25 hrs/week):
• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7:15 – 9:15 am
• Afternoons (14.75 hrs/week):
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 1:45 – 4:30 pm
• Monday and Friday 1:45 – 5:00 pm

* Working both a morning and afternoon shift, totaling at least 20 hours per week, qualifies for our employee benefits package.

Responsibilities:

• Follow licensing regulations and the School Age Care handbook
• Interact directly with children and staff members
• Plan and set up activities to ensure children have a variety of options
• Establish and maintain positive communication with parents
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean environment, including all activity areas
• Implement and uphold safety and supervision standards per licensing and school requirements
• Release children only to authorized persons
• Maintain confidentiality of all information related to Collingwood School, children, families, and staff
• Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and professionalism
• Ensure fire, earthquake, and wildlife drills are current

Required qualifications:

• Valid First Aid certificate (Standard First Aid preferred)
• Valid Early Childhood Education Diploma/Certificate
• Minimum age of 21
• Experience working with children in a childcare setting
• Excellent management, organizational, interpersonal, and relationship skills
• Creative flexibility and ability to work in a student-centered environment
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community
• Canadian residency and legal right to work in Canada
