We are looking for 1 experienced School Age Care Worker to join our Wentworth Campus . This position will work within the School Age Care program and facilitate activities for children primarily for Junior Kindergarten (4-5 years of age). The ideal candidate will be a passionate, committed and experienced educator who will demonstrate the ability to contribute to the many facets of school life. It is a Temporary Contract position from May 12, 2025 to June 13, 2025 with the possibility of continuing for the 2025-26 school year . This position reports directly to the Director of External Programs.

Available shifts include:

Mornings (10.25 hrs/week):

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7:15 - 9:15am

Afternoons (14.75 hrs/week):

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - 1:45 - 4:30pm

Monday and Friday 1:45 - 5:00pm

If you work both a morning and afternoon shift, and a minimum of 20 hours a week, you will qualify for our employee benefits package.

Responsibilities:

• Follow the licensing regulations and School Age Care handbook
• Interact directly with the children and staff members
• Plan and set-up of the School Age Care activities to ensure that the children have a variety of activities to choose from
• Establish and maintain positive communication with parents
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean environment, including all activity areas
• Ensure that all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according to licensing and Collingwood requirements
• Release children only to those authorized by parent/guardian
• Maintain confidentiality of all information related to Collingwood School, the children, their families, and staff
• Maintain regular attendance, punctuality and professionalism at all times
• Ensure fire, earthquake and wildlife sighting drills are up to date
  
  

Required qualifications:

• A valid First Aid certificate (Standard First Aid is preferred)
• A valid Early Childhood Education Diploma/Certificate
• Minimum age requirement of 21
• Experience working with children in a child care setting
• Excellent management, organizational, interpersonal and relationship skills
• Creative flexibility and ability to work in a student-centered environment
• Ability to build collaborative and effective relationships with students, staff, parents and the community
• Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada
