Job summary

Paladin Security in Halifax, Nova Scotia seeks a Scheduling Coordinator to serve as the central point for our Atlantic Operations team, coordinating guard availability and posting coverage for open shifts. You will manage daily schedules across regional client sites while maintaining clear, proactive communication with officers and leadership.

Success depends on monitoring rosters, reaching out to staff for shift options, and providing timely updates to site leaders and clients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience providing professional customer service over the phone and in person.
• Ability to stay calm, focused, and polite during fast-paced or unexpected situations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities accurately.
• Basic computer proficiency and comfort learning scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operational rosters to track open shifts, time-off requests, and coverage needs in real time.
• Reach out to off-duty and casual team members to present available shifts and confirm roster changes.
• Provide clear updates to site leaders, clients, and security officers regarding schedule updates and arrival expectations.
• Log accurate availability records, shift acceptances, and scheduling updates in our management system.
• Work directly with operations leadership to address urgent staffing requests and unexpected absences quickly.
• Build reliable working relationships with guard staff across the region, encouraging high engagement and consistent shift fulfillment.
• Develop a deep understanding of site-specific security requirements to ensure compliant, qualified staffing assignments.
• Help track shift coverage trends to assist management in optimizing regional staffing plans.
