Job summary

Magna International in Guelph, Ontario is seeking a temporary Scheduler - Metals for a six-month assignment. You will develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand, inventory requirements and manufacturing capacity.

You will monitor performance and adjust plans as needed, coordinate with RAW material supplier, and collaborate with E-COAT, Paint and Assembly to optimize flow and resource use. Strong MS Office skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is an asset.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in inventory/production control or scheduling.
  • Experience with MAPICS is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on demand and capacity.
  • Monitor production performance and adjust schedules for changes in demand, material shortages, downtime, or labor constraints.
  • Coordinate with RAW material supplier (Rollstamp) to ensure material availability aligns with plans.
  • Collaborate with E-COAT, Paint and Assembly to optimize production flow.
  • Analyze production data and KPIs to identify scheduling improvements.
  • Communicate schedule changes and priorities to E-COAT, Paint and Assembly teams.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and conduct cycle counts/audits.
  • Support inventory management to maintain target levels and minimize stock.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects for productivity.
  • Generate and distribute production schedules, reports, and KPIs.
  • Assist in capacity planning and forecasting.
  • Coordinate hanger cleaning and shipping/receiving timelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
