Our Toronto-based client is seeking a SAP ABAP HR Developer to join their project effective immediately. The position will last for six months with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate should have experience with ECC-HCM / HR to SuccessFactors Migration projects and familiarity with the Data Migration tool Infoporter. This is a fully remote position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Extraction and Analysis:
- Analyze existing HR data structures in SAP ECC (PA / OM modules).
- Identify and extract master data and organizational data relevant for migration (e.g., employees, positions, infotypes).
- Collaborate with HR business analysts to understand data mappings and business rules.
ABAP Development for Data Preparation:- Develop or modify custom ABAP programs to:
- Extract data in the format required by Infoporter.
- Perform data validations and cleansing.
- Create reports or utilities to assist with data reconciliation and audits.
Use of Infoporter:- Configure and execute Infoporter for data migration from SAP ECC to SuccessFactors.
- Map infotypes and fields from ECC to the SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) data model.
- Manage Infoporter migration templates, conversion rules, and execution sequences.
- Troubleshoot errors or mismatches encountered during migration runs.
Data Transformation and Conversion:- Ensure proper formatting and transformation of legacy data to meet EC requirements (e.g., date formats, field lengths, code mappings).
- Use ABAP routines and/or BAdIs (Business Add-Ins) for custom transformations during the Infoporter process.
Testing and Validation:- Support data validation activities post-migration by providing extracts, logs, and reports.
- Assist QA teams and business users in data verification within both ECC and SuccessFactors environments.
Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:- Document all technical specifications, migration steps, and transformation rules.
- Provide technical training or handover sessions to other developers or support teams.
Required Skills:
- Experience with ABAP / ABAP HR (focus on PA / OM infotypes, LDBs, HR logical databases)
- Experience with Infoporter (Employee Central data migration tool)
- Knowledge of SAP ECC HR (HCM) modules
- Experience with SuccessFactors Employee Central
- Familiarity with SAP BAdIs / User Exits
- Knowledge of Data Dictionary, Smartforms, LSMW (optional), SAP CPI (if integration involved)
