Job summary

Wonderbrands in Langley, BC, seeks a dedicated sanitation worker to maintain cleanliness on the bakery production floor and support daily manufacturing operations.

The role requires experience in manufacturing and sanitation, comfort with cleaning chemicals, and a strong focus on accuracy and safety in a fast-paced setting. Growth opportunities exist toward supervisory roles with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing.
• Experience in sanitation, ideally in industrial settings.
• Comfort with sanitizing agents and chemicals.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and ability to meet company standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the production floor and surrounding areas.
• Clean production floors, ceilings, walls using cleaning equipment.
• Lock out, dismantle, clean and sanitize production machines per sanitation schedule.
• Adhere to GMP and health and safety guidelines.
• Collect waste and recyclables and dispose of them.
• Assist in cleaning major spills of liquid or dry product as needed.
• Perform specialized cleaning procedures per sanitation schedule.
• Comply with food safety, quality and GMP policies.

Location: Langley, BC

Wage: $22.66 /hourShift:available to work any shift (flexibility with working overtime, and on weekends, as necessary)

In a typical day you will:

• Maintainthe cleanliness of the production floor and surrounding area
• Use cleaning equipment (scrapers, brushes, pads, vacuums, scrub machine, compressed air,power washers) to clean production floors, ceilings, walls of the bakery (warehouse, freezer, refrigerators, packing and production).
• Beresponsible for locks out, dismantling, cleaning and sanitizing ofproduction machines as requiredin accordance with master sanitation schedule and standard operating procedures
• Adhereto cleaning procedures in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices Standards and Health and Safety guidelines
• Collectwaste andrecyclable materials from production areaand dispose of them
• Assist in the cleaning of any major spills of liquid or dry product as needed
• Perform specialized cleaning procedures in accordance with master sanitation schedule
• Comply with all applicable legislative and Weston Bakeries food safety, health and safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• The Team Member is required to comply with all Food Safety, Quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements at all times.

To be successful as a sanitation worker, you will

• Be a loverof bread and baked goods!
• Have previous experience in a manufacturing environment (even better if it was food manufacturing!)
• Have previous experience in sanitation (even better if it is industrial sanitation!)
• You are comfortable working with sanitizing agents and chemicals
• You’ve got really strong attention to detail and are able to meet cleanliness standards set by the company
• Like working in a fast-paced environment, be self-reliant, and be energized by opportunities to learn and grow, and be a steward of your own career
• You digest constructive feedback as an opportunity to listen, and improve your skills, abilities, and performance
