The Role

As a Sanitation Program Supervisor at Ganong, you will play a critical leadership role in overseeing and enhancing our plant-wide sanitation program. You will ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations while serving as the subject matter expert in sanitation, allergen control, GMPs, and pest management. In this hands-on role, you’ll supervise a team of sanitation staff and work cross-functionally with quality, production, and maintenance teams to ensure a clean and safe environment for food production.

Who You Are

You are a collaborative, detail-oriented, and experienced sanitation leader with a deep understanding of food manufacturing processes. You are confident in managing programs, leading teams, and communicating technical information clearly. With a strong sense of ownership and a passion for cleanliness, you thrive in managing compliance programs and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

·Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of sanitation and pest control programs across the facility

·Maintain and execute a Master Sanitation Schedule based on risk assessment

·Oversee sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and validate their effectiveness

·Manage chemical controls in partnership with suppliers and ensure safety and regulatory compliance

·Act as the site expert in allergen management, including cleaning validations and cross-contact prevention

·Supervise daily sanitation operations, including tray wash, garbage and food waste disposal, and common area cleanliness

·Collaborate with the quality team to support environmental, equipment, and allergen swab programs

·Participate on the HACCP team and support regulatory audits

·Deliver training for staff on sanitation procedures, chemical safety, and proper documentation

·Develop and monitor sanitation KPIs, annual shutdown plans, and capital needs

·Maintain sanitation budgets, order supplies, and keep current on sanitation technologies

·Provide hands-on leadership, guidance, and coaching to the sanitation team

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in sanitation, quality, or manufacturing leadership roles (food processing preferred)
  • In-depth understanding of sanitation programs in food manufacturing environments
  • Experience with GMPs, HACCP, allergen management, and pest control programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tracking systems
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams
