Job summary

Coast Mountain Cannabis is seeking a Sanitation Lead to coordinate frontline sanitation execution, provide technical guidance, and support training in a cannabis production facility. You will ensure daily sanitation plans are executed safely and in line with company standards.

The role emphasizes development toward future leadership opportunities, collaboration with Cultivation, Processing, and Production teams, and maintaining high cleanliness and sanitation performance across the facility.

Responsibilities

• Manage sanitation supply inventory, including monitoring stock levels, identifying reorder needs, and placing or supporting orders for cleaning chemicals, tools, and PPE.
• Champion general area cleanliness inside and outside of production, including common areas, hallways, entryways, and the exterior grounds and perimeter of the facility.
• Support Cultivation, Processing, and Production teams during scheduled deep cleans, coordinating tasks and ensuring standards are met.
• Support washing and sanitizing of re-usable supplies, tools, totes, and equipment.
• Help ensure assigned tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and according to established procedures.
• Serve as a resource for Associates by answering questions and providing technical guidance.
• Escalate operational concerns, staffing challenges, or resource limitations to Supervisors.
• Support successful execution of daily sanitation priorities.
• Monitor gowning supply levels and ensure sufficient gowning is on site for opperations.

Position Summary:

The Sanitation Lead serves as the senior team member within the sanitation function and is responsible for frontline workflow coordination, training support, and execution excellence. The Sanitation Lead works alongside associates, leads, and supervisors in other departments to ensure sanitation activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.

The Sanitation Lead supports daily execution of sanitation plans by providing technical guidance, reinforcing training, monitoring work quality, identifying issues, and communicating operational needs to Supervisors and Managers. This role serves as a development position for future leadership opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on sanitation and facility cleanliness excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Frontline Coordination & Execution

Training & Employee Development

• Demonstrate proper cleaning and sanitation techniques, including safe chemical handling, and reinforce standard operating procedures.


• Identify training gaps and communicate development opportunities to Supervisors.


• Promote a positive learning environment focused on continuous improvement.


• Support ongoing training initiatives and procedural updates.

Quality Assurance & Facility Standards

• Monitor sanitation activities and work quality throughout assigned work areas.


• Identify and report concerns related to contamination risk, chemical handling, cross-contamination, or facility cleanliness.


• Support implementation of sanitation standards, Good Production Practices (GPP), and cleaning best practices.


• Verify assigned tasks are completed according to company standards.


• Assist Supervisors with sanitation observations and operational inspections.


• Promote consistency and attention to detail across all sanitation activities.

Documentation & Communication

• Complete and maintain sanitation and cleaning logs, inventory records, and chemical usage records accurately and on time.


• Support completion of operational forms and documentation.


• Report deviations, observations, and operational concerns promptly.


• Communicate effectively with Associates, Leads, Supervisors, and Managers.


• Provide feedback regarding workflow improvements and operational challenges.

Equipment, Supplies & Facilities

• Support proper use and maintenance of sanitation equipment (e.g., pressure washers, floor scrubbers, washing stations) and facilities.


• Maintain accurate, organized tracking and storage of sanitation supplies and inventory.


• Ensure all areas inside and outside production remain clean, organized, and compliant with sanitation standards.


• Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, and facility concerns.


• Reinforce Good Production Practices (GPP), safe chemical handling, and workplace safety standards.


• Conduct and document monthly Sanidate sanitizer supply changeover

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work collaboratively with Supervisors, Managers, and fellow Leads across Cultivation, Processing, and Production to coordinate sanitation support.


• Support implementation of process improvements and operational efficiencies.


• Share observations and recommendations that contribute to sanitation and overall facility success.


• Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional conduct within the department.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support sanitation and company objectives.
