Job summary

Wonderbrands in Etobicoke, ON is seeking a Sanitation Team Lead for the Night Shift. The role leads sanitation operations, coaches a team, and ensures SSOP-compliant practices in a food manufacturing environment.

You will coordinate sanitation activities, maintain records, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring cold, hot, humid, or wet conditions are navigated safely. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a sanitation environment with prior leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of sanitation processes, cleaning chemistry, chemical storage and sanitary design principles.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and emphasis on safety and quality of manufactured food products.
  • Proficient with Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; strong written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-shift huddles and provide feedback to team members.
  • Coach, mentor, and train sanitation team members.
  • Coordinate sanitation activities per SSOPs to meet standards.
  • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly sanitation records.
  • Lead onsite sanitation personnel and ensure daily procedures are followed.
  • Conduct SWAP tests as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement (Lean/Kaizen/5S) to reduce waste and improve cleaning efficiency.
  • Lock out, dismantle, clean and sanitize production equipment per SOPs.

Our facility in Etobicoke, ON is looking for a Sanitation Team Lead to join our team!


Location: Etobicoke, ON.


Shift: Night Shift (flexibility required to cover other shifts as per business and operational needs)


Hourly Rate: $32.29/hr


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Conduct pre-shift huddles and provides feedback for Team Members
  • Leads, coaches, mentors, and trains sanitation team members
  • Coordinates all sanitation activities to accomplish sanitation practices according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s)
  • Maintains daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation records
  • Leads sanitation personnel onsite and ensuring daily requirements/procedures are carried out
  • Conduct SWAP test as necessary
  • Ensures Sanitation Team members are adequately trained and works with contractors or internal support groups to resolves training if deficiencies are found
  • Creates a continuous improvement (Lean/Kaizen/5S) environment by improving products, service, and processes with the objective to reduce waste, improve cleaning effectiveness within the area while striving for efficiency and profitability within Sanitation
  • Locks out, dismantles, cleans and sanitizes production equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience working in a sanitation environment with a proven track record of prior leadership experience
  • Knowledge and experience about the sanitation process, cleaning chemistry, chemical storage, handling and dispensing systems and sanitary design principles.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and passionate about sanitation and understands its importance to safety and quality of manufactured food products.
  • Knowledge of HAACP/FSMA, GMP standards, WHMIS, First aid, Food safety, Basic Food Microbiology, Lock Out and Tag Out, and knowledge of the Occupational Health and safety act.
  • Proficient in Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Strong, professional written and oral communications.
  • Able to work in cold, hot, humid or wet manufacturing environment conditions, work with chemical and stand/walk regularly.
  • Excels at providing proper guidance, direction, feedback and recognition to the team.
  • Ability to lead and embrace changes as needed.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills.
  • Extremely well organized, results driven and pro-active in follow-up.
  • Excellent multi-tasker that can handle pressure with ease.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters including information.
  • Ability to interact well in plant environment
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, along with simple mathematical abilities
  • Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a sanitation issue
