Position Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring that all production areas and equipment are hygienically cleaned and sanitized for production.
Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize all production equipment and utensils, ensuring they are free of dirt, soybeans, soy skin, soymilk, Okara, tofu bits, and protein haze.
- Ensure all floors are free of garbage such as tofu bits, soy skins, Okara, caps, plastic film, soybeans, paper, etc., and that garbage is swept and disposed of in the proper bins, not dumped into drains.
- Prior to pressure washing or rinsing equipment, properly cover all electrical components to prevent water damage.
- Follow all working procedures, using the correct cleaning chemicals and concentrations.
- Adhere to safety procedures and wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Report machinery problems to the Sanitation Lead Hand or Maintenance staff.
- Perform pre-operation and post-operation checks with team members.
- Complete sanitation checklists.
- Carry out special assignments as directed by the QA Manager.
- Participate in root cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and standards related to safety, food safety, quality, cost control, waste reduction, and timely delivery.
- Follow all regulatory standards including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Food Safety, SOPs, HACCP, and WHMIS.
- Always use required personal protective equipment.
- Report safety concerns to the Joint Health and Safety Committee and supervisor/manager.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written English skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Willing to work graveyard shifts.
