Sanitation Associate - Sunday to Thursday - 10:00pm - 6:30am - $24 hourly + $1.50 hourly night shift premium

Location: Delta, BC (Golden West Baking Company)

Golden West Baking is a manufacturer of English muffin and bun products located on Anacis Island. Established in 1984, the facility supplies products for foodservice and retail, and is part of CH Guenther and Son, a company with over 150 years of history. Responsibilities:

1. Ensure sanitation and cleanliness of the bakery to meet AIB (American Institute of Baking) standards.
2. Conduct daily walk-around inspections.
3. Perform sanitation duties as directed by the Sanitation Manager, following the Preventative Sanitation program.
4. Participate in monthly self-inspections and safety/health inspections.
5. Coordinate sanitation activities with production and maintenance teams.
6. Assist in scheduling cleaning tasks for production staff on down days.
7. Manage in-house pest control and liaise with pest control contractors.
8. Prepare the bakery for AIB and VIP visits.
9. Assist with non-sanitation tasks when needed (e.g., moving trays, shipping, emergency line support).
10. Report equipment issues on the Mechanical Defect sheet and to supervisors.
11. Maintain organization of tools and storage areas.
12. Follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) for food processing.
13. Work collaboratively with team members.

Shift Details:

Sunday to Thursday, 10:00pm - 6:30am

Compensation:

$24 per hour + $1.50 night shift premium

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

• Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, darkness, and seasonal weather extremes.
• Adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
• Potential exposure to mechanical, forklift, chemical, and electrical hazards.
• Must have good sight, hearing, communication skills, and professional etiquette.
• Use of personal protective equipment provided by CH Guenther and Son.
