Job Description

Sanitation employees are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the plant, offices, lunchroom, and restrooms. They provide sanitation support across all areas of the facility as needed, including equipment, production areas, and common spaces. Their role is critical in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment that complies with health and safety standards, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), to ensure the highest level of quality and safety in all operations.

You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Perform cleaning and sanitization of all plant equipment and facilities, including processing and packaging equipment, flour bins, product waste containers, ingredient bins, ancillary equipment, trash cans, overhead piping, conveyors, ceilings, and vents, as well as exterior areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness in bathrooms, lunchrooms, break rooms, racks, outside grounds, tanks, and offices.
  • Follow instructions for cleaning solutions and chemicals as per safety guidelines.
  • Safely work in elevated areas, confined spaces, and environments involving flour dust, water, and varying temperatures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in working off-shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Important Details: This is a full-time permanent role on 3rd shift, which operates Sunday through Friday from 9:00 pm on Sunday night (11:00 pm during the week) to 7:00 am each day. This posting is for a newly created role that is not currently vacant.

About You
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment - food manufacturing, experience with exposure to dust and allergens, temperature variations, heat, humidity, and wet conditions during cleanup.
  • Ability to handle the physically demanding nature of the position, ability to climb, push/pull, carry, grasp, reach, twist, turn, stoop and lift/carry up to 50 lbs, ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, demonstrated experience following instructions, particularly in relation to job duties and safety regulations.
