Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing in Blue River, BC is seeking a Sandwich Maker for Saddle Mountain Restaurant. You will prepare high-quality lunches, craft sandwiches to the menu and guest preferences, and work as part of a dynamic kitchen team on an overnight schedule.

The role requires Food Safe Certification and WHMIS, plus the ability to stand for long hours and work weekends. Compensation is $22.60 CAD per hour with benefits and housing options available.

Position: Sandwich Maker

Location: Saddle Mountain Restaurant, Blue River, BC

Type: Full-time Seasonal

Reports to: Chef de Cuisine, Heli Sous Chef

Overview

Responsible for preparing high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. This role involves preparing Heli lunches in Saddle Mountain Restaurant for our guests to enjoy in the mountains. Must be prepared to work as a team member in a dynamic workplace and must follow all safety procedures. This is an overnight shift.

Responsibilities

Review the menu and guest nutritional requirements. i.e., allergies, preferences.
Make sandwiches and private lunches according to the menu and preferences. Send out soups, teas, and lunches for private groups and deluxe groups.
Prep for the following day.
Clean walls and tables in work area; clean and sterilize all knives.
Communicate all problems and / or ideas to your supervisor.
Ensure food is stored in appropriate containers, labeled, and rotated to ensure high standards of freshness, minimizing waste, and maximizing quality.
Maintain a clean and sanitary working area making sure to follow all Health & Safety regulations.

Qualifications And Requirements

Food Safe Certification and WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) required.
Experience in a similar position considered an asset.
Must be able to frequently bend and kneel, lift moderate weight, and work on feet for an extended period.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated.
Be willing to work overnight shifts and weekend shifts.
Attributes include an energetic personality, punctuality, and good grooming standards.

Working Conditions

10 hour overnight shifts, 4 nights a week on an averaging agreement
This position will spend 100% of the time standing.
Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat and water, and exposure to hot temperatures in the kitchen environment
Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion, and up to 35 pounds regularly.
Manual dexterity is required to use knives and kitchen appliances.
