Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines in Nunavut is seeking a part-time Security Guard to join the Health & Safety team. You will work under the Security Officer, coordinating with multiple departments to protect people, property and operations across the Meadowbank site and AWPR corridor.

Key duties include road traffic control, incident reporting, and communications dispatch. The role requires a valid driver’s license, reliability, and strong health & safety awareness; Nunavut Inuit beneficiaries are encouraged

Qualifications

• Work experience as Security Guard is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be reliable and show up as scheduled.
• Health & safety oriented.
• Ability working with computers (Microsoft Word & Excel).
• Willingness to learn.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment.

ABOUT OUR OPERATION

The objective of Sanajiksanut is to increase Inuit workforce in all of AEM’s Nunavut operations by contributing to the development of skills and competencies of the Inuit population in the Kivalliq region. The Sanajiksanut Process is composed of 4 steps: Employment Information Session, Online Application, Pre-employment Training, and Employment. In completing these stages of the Sanajiksanut Process, applicants will better prepare themselves for future employment with AEM or one of its contractors.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Security Officer, the Security Guard is part of the Health & Safety department and collaborates with other departments of the mine.
