Job summary

OPTEL, a leading provider of traceability systems, seeks a Sales Solutions Specialist in Montreal. You will analyse market needs, assess work scope, and help develop viable solutions aligned with business objectives.

This role focuses on translating customer requirements into clear development plans and proposals while collaborating across departments. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a similar role, fluency in French and English, and strong multi-project management and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Five years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.
  • Sound judgement, discretion and thoroughness.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Autonomy and strong organisational skills.
  • Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a changing environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage sensitive situations professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn, particularly about emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
  • Ability to work from the office as required.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong, lasting relationships with the sales team and customers within the sector to ensure that technological solutions continue to evolve in line with their needs.
  • Gather and analyse the information required to assess the work involved.
  • Translate market needs and expectations into clear requirements for the development teams.
  • Collaborate with various departments to obtain the information needed to prepare proposals.
  • Provide the team responsible for budgetary proposals with complete, reliable and well-structured information.
  • Work with the Business Leader to define market requirements for current and future solutions.
  • Identify and assess the risks associated with requests for proposals.
  • Prepare cost estimates based on the information collected, while ensuring alignment with target margins.
  • Verify the validity, compliance and feasibility of requests in accordance with established processes.
  • Act as a technical resource for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform any other related duties.

Summary

The Sales Solutions Specialist acts as the technical point of reference for the Business Leader and the team responsible for budgetary proposals. The role primarily involves analysing market and customer needs, assessing the work required to address them, and supporting the development of suitable, viable solutions aligned with the organisation’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
