North Vancouver Land Rover is currently looking to fill the position of a Sales Manager.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in planning, organizing, controlling, and measuring the employees and activities of the Sales Department. He/she will be directly responsible for developing training programs for new and used car salespeople. This person will teach training classes or request a qualified person in sales management to assist when necessary. He/she will also handle administrative details of the New/Used Car Department and other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

  • Establish long- and short-range goals as directed by the General Manager for the sales staff.
  • Guide salespeople in setting objectives on a long- and short-term basis.
  • Recommend new car inventory based on sales rate and current inventory, considering color, model, and equipment.
  • Set gross profit objectives for salespeople.
  • Assist in forecasting controllable expenses for the department.
  • Set and monitor weekly sales objectives for sales staff.
  • Communicate dealership policies and procedures to sales staff and enforce compliance.
  • Evaluate monthly gross and volume performance of salespeople.
  • Conduct daily one-on-one meetings to monitor activities and assist customers.
  • Ensure salespeople plan their daily work using phone calls, emails, and appointments through the CRM system.
  • Hire, motivate, counsel, and monitor performance of sales employees.
  • Supervise follow-up procedures with owners through the CRM system.
  • Review salespeople’s performance and develop training plans to meet objectives.
  • Recommend dismissal for salespeople failing to meet standards.
  • Conduct daily and weekly sales training meetings, including manufacturer training.
  • Work on programs to increase gross profit and finance penetration.
  • Hold salespeople accountable for prospecting and following up with customers via CRM.
  • Evaluate performance regularly and conduct reviews.
  • Coordinate with Service, Parts, and Business Office departments.
  • Assist in planning programs to help salespeople reach their goals.

Other Duties:

  • Coordinate efforts to enhance the dealership’s image.
  • Review performance records and analyze reasons for above or below goal performance.
  • Assist in advertising and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with other Sales Managers for professional development.
