The Career.

The Sales Manager or Community Relations Manager (CRM) reports to the Community Director, working closely with the management team and V!VA's Head Office team to develop and execute plans to successfully meet sales goals and occupancy targets. This includes initiating and following up on sales leads, acting as V!VA's ambassador to the surrounding community, facilitating tours, conducting competitor analysis, and working as a positive and contributing member of the V!VA team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engage in the prospect-centered relationship-selling process with each prospect and their family.
  2. Develop and manage a network of local referral sources.
  3. Set appointments with interested prospects/families via phone and email and conduct tours.
  4. Provide information on the retirement community to the general public, including prospects and community organizations.
  5. Coordinate outreach events such as tradeshows, special events, community seminars, and charitable associations.
  6. Regularly review the database to identify leads, follow up on leads from all sources, and create sales strategies for prospective residents and families.
  7. Track referrals and follow up according to an established V!VA sales approach.
  8. Maintain updated records of sales and community relations/organization activities through V!VA's customer relations management software.
  9. Manage a budget in accordance with the Community Outreach and Sales Plan.
  10. Monitor market competition and conditions within the territory, and prepare/distribute competitor analysis.
  11. Contribute local insights for strategic planning of all marketing and leasing initiatives.
  12. Assist the Community Directors and Sales teams in identifying competitive challenges.
  13. Build personal relationships to assist prospects through their decision-making process.
  14. Establish and ensure timely, open, and effective communication with all team members, community members, and family members, ensuring all expectations are met or exceeded.
  15. Assist in developing and implementing the annual marketing budget and management plan, ensuring excellent public relations and customer service while achieving occupancy goals.
  16. Ensure the physical retirement community is properly maintained, clean, safe, and presentable at all times.
  17. Participate in all scheduled in-service training and education programs.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Preference for candidates with experience in retirement living, healthcare, real estate, pharmaceutical, or hospitality industries. Proven success in achieving/exceeding targets, such as increasing occupancy, is preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of Retirement Communities in Vaughan and surrounding areas.
  • Postsecondary education, preferably in a business-related field, is an asset.
  • Interest in working in a highly customer-service-oriented environment and making a difference in seniors' lives.
  • Confident, results-oriented, self-starter with initiative and leadership qualities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent sales presentation skills and ability to close sales.
  • Outstanding oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Enthusiastic leader who fosters a positive environment and is committed to customer satisfaction.
  • Flexible to work changing hours, including weekends and some evenings.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, hold a clean Class G driver license, and be able to drive as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
