The Opportunity

As a key member of the Global Food Leadership team the Sales Lead, Global Food is responsible for delivering against annual sales revenue targets as aligned to business growth and profitability objectives, developed against relevant market share data. Managing a global team of sales professionals and collaborating with various functions across the organization, this position is responsible for strategic account management, territory sales teams and overall customer management and satisfaction. This position is also responsible for maintaining disciplined review of contracts, technical and operational to identify and mitigate company risk.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team of global sales professionals including Strategic Accounts team and territory sales teams and dedicated international accounts team.
  • Provide employee coaching and performance management for all sales account managers and strategic account teams.
  • Develop and direct all aspects of the Food Platform sales plan including end user and contractor development.
  • Responsible and Accountable for the development, management, and execution of a 3-Year Sales Strategy, directly aligned to the overall Food Platform Global 3-Year Strategic Plan
  • Lead negotiations with customers, involving senior management and supporting functions, as necessary.
  • Accountable for upfront business development activities in a Request For Quotation (RFQ) Engineered to Order (ETO) environment, including working directly with the customer to clarify scope details and other project requirements, relaying to the AGI internal project development team.
  • Review of commercial contracts, including complex terms and conditions.
  • Responsible for identifying and managing risk across technical, operational, commercial, and contractual parameters.
  • Communication of sales performance through KPIs to SVP Global Food and Food Platform leadership.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Team to develop and execute a comprehensive Marketing Plan.
  • Provide feedback and input into Product Development Strategies and Plans.
  • Compile, analyze and distribute sales statistics.
  • Monitor accounts and assist with collections.
  • Manage trade shows, coordinating with all divisions and AGI Sales / Marketing
  • Evaluate sales effectiveness by region, division and major account and recommend improvements.
  • Gather competitive intelligence for strategic analysis.
  • As a key member of the Global Foods Leadership Team, work directly with the SVP Global Food to develop and execute the Global Business 3-Year Strategic Plan

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Degree in Business or Engineering, credentials in sales management and Food / Pet Food equipment products.
  • 15+ years relevant experience, including 5+ years in a sales leadership role.
  • Bilingual strongly preferred: Ability to speak, read and write in French
  • Technical skill required to translate complex customer requirements into differentiated solutions.
  • Experience with complex technical customer contracts and legal frameworks.
