Job summary

Roots is seeking a passionate Retail Associate to join our team in Toronto. You will engage with customers, maintain store standards, handle POS transactions, and contribute to visual merchandising.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, upbeat attitude, and strong customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. As part of our team, you’ll help ensure the store presents our products appealingly, support loss prevention policies, and stay current on product updates.

Qualifications

• Retail experience, preferably in apparel.
• Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with customers.
• Understanding of retail operations like store standards, cash handling and merchandising.
• Self-starter with good judgment in all situations.
• Excellent presentation skills in a retail environment.
• Upbeat, optimistic, passionate and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to understand customer needs.
• Ability to gain buy-in for ideas, decisions, actions or products.

Responsibilities

• Display a customer-first attitude to build and maintain loyalty.
• Resolve customer issues effectively at store level in a timely, positive manner.
• Be a team player and contribute to the store's success.
• Perform POS transactions and merchandising tasks such as receiving shipments, replenishment, markdowns, and fitting room upkeep.
• Keep current on product and service updates.
• Ensure store is visually appealing and aligned with company standards through presentation, replenishment, housekeeping, and displays.
• Adhere to Loss Prevention policies as per guidelines.
