Job summary

Staples Canada in Saint-Basile, NB is seeking a retail associate to deliver outstanding customer service, engage shoppers and drive sales across furniture, technology and supplies. You will work with store leadership to set and achieve sales and margin goals while maintaining store standards and safety protocols.

The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication and the ability to handle POS transactions, return items, and assist customers with tailored solutions.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of prior retail experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.
• Drive sales in the furniture, technology and supplies areas of the store.
• Set and achieve sales and margin goals with store leaders.
• Ensure operational excellence and uphold store brand standards.
• Support merchandising and signage standards including planograms and stocking.
• Maintain Health & Safety, Asset Protection, and Privacy Policies.
• Engage with and sell to customers using selling tools to anticipate needs.
• Handle POS transactions, including shipping and marketing tools.
• De-escalate and assist in complex customer situations or refer to a manager.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment and ensure demo units are functional.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
