Job summary

Staples Canada in New Minas, Nova Scotia is seeking a sales associate to deliver outstanding customer service and support across furniture, technology and supplies. You will assist customers, manage POS transactions, and help maintain product displays.

Key responsibilities include engaging with customers, offering tailored solutions, ensuring a clean store, and collaborating with the team to achieve sales and service goals while upholding brand standards.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of prior retail experience (preferred).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with and sell to customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools available to meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the POS system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• De-escalate and assist in complex customer situations, referring to a manager when needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment, including demo units and stock upkeep.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
