Job summary

Equinox Engineering Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Process Engineer to lead SAGD/Heavy Oil aboveground pipelines and well pads projects in Calgary. You will guide multi‑discipline teams, drive safe, compliant design practices, and deliver critical process deliverables with senior oversight.

You should hold a P.Eng. with APEGA and a chemical engineering degree, with 10+ years of SAGD experience and strong tool proficiency (HYSYS, PipeFlo, PipeSim, PipeSys, DNV Synergi, UniSim, Olga).

Qualifications

• P.Eng. designation with APEGA.
• Chemical Engineering degree from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of SAGD/Heavy Oil process engineering experience.
• Proficiency with HYSYS and related software as listed.
• Strong knowledge of process safety, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience leading process engineering teams on complex projects.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering activities across all phases: feasibility, conceptual, DBMs, FEED, and detailed design.
• Develop, validate and review process simulations and models for aboveground pipelines and well pads.
• Stamp key deliverables including HMBs, PFDs, P&IDs, line lists and control narratives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and cross‑global engineers.
• Manage discipline budgets, schedules and project risk.
• Collaborate with PMPEs, discipline leads, vendors and clients to solve challenges.
