Job summary

Qualico is seeking a Safety Supervisor to promote a strong safety culture across residential construction sites, offices and facilities. You will monitor the Safety and Health Program, ensure compliance with legislation, identify hazards and provide practical safety guidance to employees, trades, contractors, and management.

  • Investigate incidents, near misses and safety concerns; recommend corrective actions.
  • Deliver new hire/site orientations, toolbox talks and safety trainings.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports and training documentation.
  • Support contractor safety prequalification and ongoing compliance.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Regional Safety Manger, as the Safety Supervisor you support and promote a strong safety culture across residential construction sites, offices and facilities. You are responsible to monitor, the company's Safety and Health Program, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, identify and mitigate workplace hazards, and providing practical safety guidance to employees, trades, contractors, and management.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the company's Safety and Health Program.
  • Conducting site inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and COR audit activities across assigned locations.
  • Monitoring compliance with company policies, safe work procedures, and applicable health and safety legislation.
  • Investigating incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Delivering new hire and site orientations, safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety-related training.
  • Providing coaching, guidance, and supporting to employees, supervisors, trades, and contractors on safe work practices.
  • Maintaining accurate safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, incident reports, and related safety data.
  • Supporting contractor prequalification and ongoing contractor safety compliance.
  • Assisting with WCB claims management, return-to-work processes, and Joint Safety and Health Committee activities, as required.
  • Recommending and implementing initiatives that improving safety performance, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Responding to urgent safety concerns and supporting emergency response activities when required.
  • Performing other safety and health duties as assigned.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably within residential construction.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable vehicle. Clean Driver’s abstract
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint).

Work Conditions

You primarily work in an office setting during regular business hours with travel to the sites required on a frequent basis. Overtime may occasionally be required.
