Job summary

Penn-co Construction is seeking a Safety Supervisor to lead safety initiatives at our Steinbach and Winnipeg offices. You will develop and implement safety programs, lead the safety team, and ensure compliance with regulations across projects.

The ideal candidate will hold NCSO or equivalent certification, a Class 5 driver’s license, and experience as a safety coordinator/advisor in construction, with willingness to travel to remote sites in Manitoba or Ontario. Benefits offered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the safety team to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries within the organization.
  • Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement safety programs for employees and contractors.
  • Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Ensure safety equipment is maintained and used correctly.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to mitigate hazards.
  • Maintain records of inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
  • Stay up to date with industry safety standards and best practices.

Safety Supervisor

As the Safety Supervisor you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a safety coordinator or advisor position in the construction field.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian safety regulations and standards.
  • A leader who is relational, collaborative, and confident in their ability to influence others.
  • Sensitivity and adaptability to different cultures and environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Occasional travel to northern remote sites in Manitoba or Ontario.
