What You’ll Do

The Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of safety programs and initiatives at distribution center locations. This role involves conducting safety inspections, assisting with incident investigations, and providing training to employees on safety practices. The Safety Specialist will work closely with the Safety Manager and other team members to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Support the investigation of accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend corrective actions using a behavior-based model.
  • Provide safety training and education to associates, including new hire orientation, ongoing training programs, safety committee, and safety meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained and available for use.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory changes related to workplace safety.
  • Perform a variety of safety administrative functions and other special projects as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
  • BA/BS degree or comparable work experience.
  • 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a distribution or warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as an associate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and negotiate.
  • Strong analytical skills to gather data, analyze, and make and communicate recommendations.

CA Pay Range is $29.00 - $39.00 per hour.

Full-time and part-time associates are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) retirement savings plan after three (3) months of service.

Benefits for full-time employment on the first of the month following 30 days of continuous employment include offerings for programs including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending, Commuter Benefits, and Employee Assistance.
