Job summary

Empire Envelope, a Qualico business unit, seeks a Safety Administrator in Calgary to support safety programs and documentation. You will coordinate safety training records, assist COR audits, and schedule safety inspections.

The role includes policy development, WCB liaison, and claims management to curb costs. The ideal candidate has a degree in Workplace Health & Safety or equivalent, 3+ years in safety, and proficiency with MS Office and SiteDocs.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Workplace Health & Safety, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a workplace safety role.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in safety programs such as SiteDocs.

Responsibilities

  • Administer day-to-day safety programs and maintain employee safety training records.
  • Assist in COR audits and develop audit action plans.
  • Schedule Safety Advisors for daily inspections.
  • Conduct safety orientations.
  • Maintain record-keeping systems for safety documents and ensure compliance with legislation and COR requirements.
  • Prepare correspondence for safety communications (memos, forms, manuals, reports).
  • Assist with safety policies, procedures formatting and review.
  • Liaise with the Workers' Compensation Board and promote health & safety regulations.
  • Assist with claims management to reduce WCB costs.
  • Co-chair the JHS committee and monthly safety meetings; prepare agendas and minutes.
